What Makes Kona Coffee So Unique?

Kona coffee is distinguished from all other coffees by the unique island microclimate in which it grows and by the extra care taken throughout the growing process that produces the excellent Kona coffee bean.

The cycle of bright sunny mornings, cloud covered rainy afternoons, and mild nights creates the ideal growing conditions for the Kona coffee trees to mature and flourish. The trees thrive in the Kona region on the slopes of the volcanoes Hualalai and Mauna Loa that is blessed with fertile volcanic soil and by the natural shade provided by avocado, mango and macadamia nut trees.

Growing in this unique environment, Kona coffee has a distinct advantage over coffees grown in other parts of the world. Coffee trees typically bloom after Kona’s dry winters and are harvested in autumn. Coffee cultivated in the North and South districts of Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii is the only coffee that can truly be called Kona Coffee

Like fine wines, Kona coffee is processed with the utmost attention through each stage from handpicking the beans to dry milling and roasting. The end result is an extraordinary coffee, delicate yet with a rich full flavor and robust aroma. Genuine Kona coffee is highly prized throughout the world for its full bodied flavor and pleasing aroma.
